About the coffee

This coffee comes from Ture Waji, the founder of Sookoo Coffee. It is processed at Suke Station, where cherries are collected from 35 local farms. The farms are located at an altitude of 2000 to 2150 m above sea level and this particular lot consists mainly of the landraces Gibirinna 74110 and Serto 74112.

Ture Waji, often referred to as the “King of Guji”, is not only an excellent producer, but also a passionate and friendly person who we have had the pleasure of meeting on several occasions over the years. He is known for consistently producing some of the cleanest natural coffee in the country. The people who contribute to this lot farm small plots entirely organically. Each farm is around 1 to 2 hectares in size and cultivates the coffee in full or semi-afforestation.

The cherries are harvested at the time of peak ripeness. Once sorted, they are taken directly to drying tables where they are dried in cherries on raised beds.

About the roastery

ilse was founded in 2019 with the aim of showcasing the best coffees in the world and opening people's eyes to what coffee can be. Quality coffee is what got us into specialty coffee in the first place, but the people we've met along the way are what keep us here and, more importantly, inspire and motivate us to grow.
