Experience Gift in Vienna: a Coffee Workshop Instead of More Stuff

A coffee workshop is an experience gift that works particularly well in Vienna: it takes one and a half to three hours, costs between 29 and 290 euros, and the recipient takes home something that pays off every morning – better coffee. At kaffemik on Zollergasse 5 in the 7th district you can give a cupping, latte art or espresso basics, or a barista class where we come to the recipient's home.

Why an experience instead of more stuff?

Most people have enough things. An experience is remembered, is fun to share and doesn't end up in a cupboard. A coffee workshop adds something more: what you learn there you use every day afterwards – when adjusting the grinder, frothing milk or trying a new coffee.

How a Sunday Cupping works

Cupping is the method roasters and green coffee buyers use to evaluate coffee. At our Sunday Cupping at 9 am you taste several specialty coffees side by side, our baristas explain origin, farming and processing, and by the end you can run a cupping yourself. The group is small so there's plenty of time for questions. For many people, cupping is the moment they first notice how different coffee can taste.

How the Latte Art Workshop works

First, the instructor shows latte art in action and explains the schedule. Then comes the theory of milk frothing: temperature, texture and why both matter. Most of the time is spent practising, step by step, with the goal of pouring a heart at the end. If you prefer plant-based milk, you'll learn what to watch out for.

Gifting tips

  • Give it for two: two cupping tickets make a lovely couple's gift and cost less than a dinner.
  • Combine: Latte Art Workshop plus a milk pitcher – so practice can continue at home straight away.
  • Leave the date open: with the workshop voucher the recipient picks the date themselves.
  • Last minute: the voucher arrives instantly by email and can be printed – even on 24 December.
